What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the immediate effects of four different exercise methods on heart rate, blood pressure, lactate levels, and feelings of effort and fatigue in healthy adults aged 18 to 35. These exercise methods include traditional aerobic training, high-intensity interval training HIIT, aerobic exercise with immersive virtual reality VR, and HIIT combined with immersive VR. The goal is to compare how these different exercise styles impact cardiovascular and physiological responses as well as participant perceptions. Participants will complete one session of each of the four exercise methods. The traditional aerobic training involves a 5-minute warm-up, 20 minutes of exercise at moderate intensity, and a 5-minute cool-down. The HIIT sessions include a warm-up followed by intervals alternating high and light intensity, then a cool-down. The VR-based sessions follow the same exercise structure but incorporate immersive VR glasses and applications to enhance the experience. Each session is monitored over several weeks. During the study, participants will have their blood lactate levels measured for 5 minutes after each exercise session, scheduled on days 1, 8, 15, and 22. Heart rate, blood pressure, and perceptions of effort and fatigue are also recorded during and immediately after each session. Physical performance is assessed shortly after exercise. This detailed monitoring helps researchers understand how each exercise type affects the body and subjective experience. The study is randomized and double-blinded to ensure unbiased comparisons.
