Researchers are studying the awareness levels of physiotherapists working in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan regarding sensory integration therapy and its use in treating children with cerebral palsy. This observational cross-sectional study aims to find out if these therapists include sensory integration therapy in their treatment plans and to increase their knowledge about its effectiveness for sensory processing issues in children with cerebral palsy. The study involves surveying 110 physical therapists from various hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who have at least two years of clinical experience. They will complete a self-designed questionnaire developed to assess their awareness and usage of sensory integration therapy in managing cerebral palsy. The therapists represent all divisions of the province and work directly as clinicians or in healthcare settings. Participants will be asked to complete the 60-minute survey tool that measures their knowledge and application of sensory integration therapy. Data collection focuses on physical therapists currently practicing in the region. The main outcome measured is their awareness level about this therapy. The study is led by Riphah International University and is expected to run until January 2025.
