Study on Balance Confidence, Fear of Movement, and Related Factors in Parkinsons Disease Patients Aged 50 to 80

Researchers are studying people aged 50 to 80 years with idiopathic Parkinsons disease to understand their balance confidence, fear of falling, and movement-related anxiety compared to healthy volunteers. The study aims to assess mental and functional status using tests like the Mini-Mental State Examination MMSE and the Movement Disorder Society Unified Parkinsons Disease Rating Scale MDS-UPDRS. The study involves two groups patients with Parkinsons disease and healthy control participants. No treatment or intervention is given during the study. Researchers will collect sociodemographic data and measure balance confidence with the ABC-6 scale, overall balance with the Berg Balance Scale, fear of falling with the Falls Efficacy Scale, and kinesiophobia with the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia. Participants will be evaluated at the start of the study using various scales to measure balance, fear, mental function, and movement ability. These assessments help researchers understand factors related to balance and movement fear in Parkinsons disease. The study will monitor baseline results to compare between patients and healthy volunteers, with participation lasting from enrollment until all initial assessments are completed.
