What this Trial Is About

This research aims to assess how breastfeeding education through a card game method affects breastfeeding success and self-confidence in first-time breastfeeding mothers. It focuses on primiparous women, addressing common challenges such as lack of knowledge, support, and motivation that may hinder exclusive breastfeeding. The study highlights the importance of innovative educational approaches to promote exclusive breastfeeding and improve health outcomes for mothers and babies. Participants are divided into two groups: one receives breastfeeding education using a specially designed card game twice, spaced two weeks apart, while the other group does not receive this intervention. The card game method presents health messages in a fun, interactive way that encourages active learning. This randomized controlled trial uses a double-blind design to compare outcomes between the intervention and control groups. During the study, participants’ breastfeeding self-efficacy will be measured at the 36th week of pregnancy and after birth using a specific scale. Breastfeeding success will be evaluated using the LATCH Breastfeeding Diagnostic and Assessment Scale for all participants after delivery, and satisfaction will be assessed in the intervention group using a visual analog scale. The study also involves monitoring participants from late pregnancy through postpartum to understand how education influences breastfeeding behavior and confidence.
