What this Trial Is About
This observational study focuses on adults diagnosed with cancer who use cannabis. It aims to improve understanding of symptoms, cannabis use, patient responses to cannabis consumption, and changes in supportive care medications like opioids and antiemetics. The study is designed to collect reliable, cancer-specific data to help patients and their oncology clinicians make informed decisions about incorporating cannabis into treatment plans. Participants will use a secure, app-based technology developed in partnership with Ontracka. After electronically consenting, they will create an account and download the OnTracka mobile app to track their cannabis use and related symptoms. They will complete validated questionnaires, including NCI PRO-CTCAE every two weeks and PROMIS Global along with medication logs every four weeks for the first 12 weeks. Follow-up surveys occur at 6 and 12 months. Throughout the study, researchers will monitor adherence from enrollment to the first 90 days. Participants will provide symptom reports, cannabis use data, and medication changes through the app. This data collection helps assess patient experiences over time. The study participation may last up to one year, with multiple opportunities to report and monitor health status and symptom changes.

- Diagnosed with cancer
- Currently using cannabis
You will not qualify if you...
History of severe allergic reactions to study medication Currently pregnant or breastfeeding Recent participation in another clinical trial within the last 30 days Presence of uncontrolled medical conditions that could affect safety

Your Study Journey

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial.
Duration - 12 weeks
Participants track cannabis consumption and symptom responses through the Ontracka app, completing questionnaires and medication logs at specified intervals.
Surveys every 2 to 4 weeks through 12 weeks
Duration - Up to 12 months after initial 12 weeks
Participants complete follow-up surveys to assess symptoms and medication use at 6 months and 12 months after initial 12-week monitoring.
