Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Willing and able to provide written informed consent
- Age 18-30 years OR 65 years and older
- Healthy individuals without uncontrolled medical conditions (over the counter inhaled and topical steroids allowed)
- Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI (all skin types)
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Uncontrolled medical conditions
- Skin conditions on the upper extremity interfering with skin carotenoid measurements such as active atopic dermatitis or psoriasis
- Use of medications affecting the immune system within 4 weeks of enrollment (e.g., prednisone, biologics, methotrexate, rapamycin, prescription topical or inhaled steroids)
- Unable to follow study protocol
