Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 years and older
- Established diagnosis of COPD by a medical doctor based on clinical history or lung function test with FEV1/FVC < 0.7
- Currently hospitalized with suspicion of an acute exacerbation of COPD
- Inclusion within 48 hours after hospital admission
- Voluntary written informed consent given by participant or representative before any study procedures
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable or unwilling to comply with study procedures
- Not requiring treatment with systemic corticosteroids, antibiotics, or both for the current acute COPD exacerbation
- Confirmed positive test for COVID-19 or highly suspected COVID-19 based on clinical examination
