Observational Study of Health in Elderly People in Nursing Homes and Home Care in Tianjin

What this Trial Is About

This observational study focuses on elderly people aged 60 and above, living either in nursing homes with medical facilities or receiving home care. The study aims to observe and measure how new medical care models, such as large-scale elderly care complexes, affect the health of the elderly population. Researchers intend to compare these care models to explore the best ways to promote active health and improve elderly care in the Tianjin area. Participants will be observed in two groups those residing in retirement communities with medical and nursing care, and those receiving care at home. Researchers will track health changes over time without administering any treatments. The study provides a platform to explore new elderly care models that may benefit different health conditions within the elderly population. Participants health status will be assessed at the start and during follow-up visits every three to five years. Evaluations include physical examinations and disease status checks. The study will monitor how well different care approaches support the elderlys health, aiming to inform improved health promotion strategies. Participation involves regular health assessments over a long-term period ending in 2030.
