What this Trial Is About

This research focuses on comparing two treatment methods, Brugger relief exercises and Kinesio taping, to address forward head posture (FHP), a condition causing abnormal cervical spine alignment and nonspecific neck pain. The study involves adults aged 20 to 40 years with FHP characterized by a craniovertebral angle less than 50 degrees. This randomized controlled trial was conducted at a physical therapy clinic with 28 participants divided into two equal groups. Participants received either Kinesio taping applied to specific neck and shoulder muscles three times a week for four weeks or performed Brugger relief exercises three days weekly for four weeks. Kinesio taping involves elastic tape to relieve muscle tension and improve posture, while Brugger relief exercises involve posture correction movements aimed at strengthening neck and shoulder muscles. Both interventions were designed to improve posture and reduce discomfort associated with FHP. During the study, researchers measured changes in the craniovertebral angle from baseline to the fourth week to evaluate treatment effects. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. Participants were assessed on posture correction progress, and adherence to scheduled treatments was monitored. The study duration was six months, and findings aim to guide healthcare providers in selecting effective treatments for FHP-related neck pain.
