Study of Early Maladaptive Patterns in Burned-Out and Non-Burned-Out Healthcare and Non-Healthcare Professionals in France

Researchers are investigating early maladaptive patterns in healthcare professionals experiencing burnout compared to those without burnout and non-care professionals with burnout. This observational, multicenter study in France aims to understand how these early patterns differ and may relate to burnout symptoms and vulnerability. The study will help identify potential targets for therapeutic intervention in burned-out healthcare workers. Participants are divided into three groups care professionals with burnout, care professionals without burnout, and non-care professionals with burnout. The study uses assessments such as the Young Schema Questionnaire Short form, Maslach Burnout Inventory, Montgomery-Asberg depression rating Scale, and White Bear Suppression Inventory to compare maladaptive schemas and burnout profiles. Data collection and participant inclusion occur during outpatient and occupational medicine consultations. During the study, participants complete questionnaires assessing burnout, depression, and maladaptive schemas over a 21-day period. Researchers will analyze these scores to understand differences between groups. The study involves telephone contact for some participants and data collection during routine occupational health visits. Participation includes informed consent and continuous monitoring, with the study expected to complete by the end of 2026.
