What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the effects of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training on adolescent pregnant women and their partners, focusing on reducing fear of childbirth, improving maternal and paternal bonding, and enhancing breastfeeding success. This randomized controlled study addresses the increased stress and parenting anxiety common in adolescent pregnancy, which can negatively impact bonding and breastfeeding outcomes. The study compares MBSR training combined with routine care to routine care alone. The MBSR program consists of eight sessions over four weeks, held twice weekly, each lasting about 40 minutes. Sessions include mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, body scans, and stress management techniques delivered to both adolescent pregnant women and their partners. Participants are randomly assigned to either the experimental group receiving MBSR training plus routine care or the control group receiving only routine care. Participants will be assessed for fear of childbirth and maternal bonding at the start and four weeks after the intervention. The study involves adolescent pregnant women aged 15 to 19 years in their third trimester who are primiparous and have no high-risk pregnancy diagnosis. Partner involvement is required. The study aims to monitor the impact of MBSR training on psychological and bonding outcomes, with participation lasting through the intervention period and follow-up assessments.
