Breast milk provides unique and vital nutrition for infants, protecting them against common childhood illnesses through natural antibodies and accessibility. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months supports healthy growth and immune function. However, cultural myths such as discarding colostrum or giving water after feedings can undermine mothers' confidence and lead to early breastfeeding cessation or early introduction of other foods. This observational study explores how mothers' belief in these breastfeeding myths relates to their motivation to breastfeed, an area not previously studied together. The study involves mothers with infants aged 0 to 6 months who have breastfed at least once. Participants will be assessed once at enrollment to collect information about their demographics, birth details, breastfeeding habits, belief in breastfeeding myths, and their motivation to breastfeed. This study does not involve any treatment or intervention but focuses on understanding attitudes and behaviors related to breastfeeding. Participants will complete questionnaires during a one-time assessment at the start of the study. Researchers will gather data about their breastfeeding practices and beliefs. The primary outcomes include demographic and breastfeeding characteristics, belief in myths about breastfeeding, and motivation to breastfeed. The study aims to provide insights to improve breastfeeding support and education. Participation is voluntary and study duration varies by participant involvement in this baseline assessment.
