What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying how diabetes education using motivational interviewing based on the health promotion model affects diabetes self-management and the severity of cyberchondria in people with diabetes. The study involves 64 individuals with diabetes, divided into experimental and control groups, and is conducted at a diabetes outpatient clinic. The aim is to evaluate changes in self-management and cyberchondria levels using specific scales after the education period. Participants in the experimental group receive weekly diabetes education sessions using motivational interviewing for one month, guided by the health belief model. Both experimental and control groups complete assessments before and after the one-month period. The control group does not receive the motivational interviewing education but completes the same evaluations for comparison. During the study, all participants complete forms and scales measuring diabetes self-management and cyberchondria severity before and after the intervention. Researchers use these results to assess the effects of the education. The total participation time is one month, during which data collection occurs at the beginning and end of the study period.
