What this Trial Is About
Tennis Elbow, also known as Lateral Epicondylalgia, is a common injury causing pain on the outer elbow, especially affecting people aged 40 to 60. This condition involves pain near the lateral epicondyle bone where the extensor carpi Brevis tendon attaches and is worsened by gripping or wringing activities. During menopause, decreasing estrogen levels can reduce tendon strength and resilience, increasing the risk of tendinopathy and limiting movement and function. This trial is studying three groups of menopausal women with Tennis Elbow, aged 45 to 55. One group will receive multimodal electrotherapy combining low level laser therapy and interferential current alongside conventional physical therapy exercises. The second group will receive extracorporeal shock wave therapy plus the same physical therapy exercises. The third group will receive only conventional physical therapy consisting of stretching and strengthening exercises. Each treatment is delivered three times a week for six weeks. Participants will attend sessions three times weekly for six weeks to receive their assigned therapy and exercises. Researchers will assess pain levels using a visual analogue scale and measure hand grip strength after six weeks. These results will help evaluate the effectiveness of the different therapies in improving tendon health and reducing pain. The study is sponsored by October 6 University and involves randomized assignment to groups with single masking.
