Effect of RECAST-H (Reverse Case Studies Based on Heutagogy Approach) on Professional Readiness Among Final-Year Nursing Students: A Randomized Controlled Trial

This research aims to examine how reverse case studies based on the heutagogical approach affect the professional readiness of final-year nursing students. The study evaluates whether this educational method influences professional readiness, career adaptability, professional socialization, and psychological capital among students preparing to enter nursing professions. It is a randomized controlled trial conducted at Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing with a focus on improving soft skills to ease the transition into professional nursing roles. Participants are randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving a five-session reverse case study program based on the heutagogy approach or a waiting-list control group that receives the program after the study ends. The educational program is designed to enhance competencies such as flexibility, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication, which support professional readiness. Participants complete baseline assessments before the intervention and post-intervention assessments immediately after the program concludes. Researchers measure outcomes including professional readiness, career adaptability, professional socialization, and psychological capital. Feedback on the educational program is also collected to evaluate its impact. The total participation timeline spans from initial assessment through completion of the educational program and follow-up evaluation.
