What this Trial Is About
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a resilience-focused rehabilitation program for people who have had TakoTsubo cardiomyopathy or an acute coronary event. Psychological resilience plays an important role in managing daily life challenges and may affect the development and outcomes of cardiovascular diseases. Stress is linked to these heart conditions, and those affected often experience emotional or physical triggers and prolonged stress that impact their quality of life and social participation. Participants receive inpatient multidisciplinary rehabilitation, which includes a special psychological intervention: resilience training. This training involves two 100-minute psychological group therapy sessions focused on resilience and two 25-minute relaxation sessions called "heart yoga." The study compares individuals with TakoTsubo cardiomyopathy and those after an acute coronary event who both receive this additional therapy during their rehabilitation. During the three-week inpatient rehabilitation, researchers will measure changes in psychological resilience using two resilience scales. They will also assess related factors such as quality of life, psychological distress, work ability, and physical performance through exercise testing. Follow-up assessments will take place six months after rehabilitation to determine the lasting effects of the program. The total participation includes the three-week rehabilitation and the six-month follow-up period.
