What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the immediate effects of fascia correction Kinesio Taping applied to the thoracolumbar fascia in adults with Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS), a common cause of shoulder pain and limited movement. This randomized controlled trial aims to explore how modulating the thoracolumbar fascia may influence pain, mobility, range of motion, and tissue flexibility in people with SIS. The study plans to provide evidence about the role of thoracolumbar fascia in shoulder function and related clinical outcomes. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The intervention group will receive fascia correction Kinesio Taping using a Y-shaped "Ram's Horn" technique applied to the thoracolumbar region with low-to-moderate tape tension and manual oscillatory movements to facilitate fascial mobilization. The control group will receive a sham taping without therapeutic effect, applied without tension or fascial correction maneuvers. Assessments will be conducted immediately before and 45 minutes after tape application. During the study, researchers will assess pain intensity at rest and during activity using the Visual Analog Scale, trunk range of motion with goniometry, trunk flexibility by tape measurement, thoracolumbar fascia flexibility using a goniometric platform, lumbar mobility with the Modified Schober Test, and posterior shoulder capsule tightness. The primary outcome is thoracolumbar fascia flexibility measured 15 minutes after intervention. Safety and acute effects will be monitored during the brief study period, which involves a single application and short follow-up assessment.
