Total Duration
Researchers are investigating the effects of Kinesio Taping and Scapular Stabilization Exercises on individuals with subacromial impingement syndrome, a condition where the space between the acromion bone and the humerus narrows, causing pain and reduced shoulder function. This syndrome involves compression of sensitive structures around the shoulder, leading to discomfort and limited movement. The study focuses on patients aged 18 to 55 years who have had shoulder pain on the anterolateral side for at least three months with positive clinical signs such as specific shoulder tests. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Group A will receive a Kinesio Taping protocol applied following established methods targeting the rotator cuff area. Group B will participate in supervised scapular stabilization exercises twice weekly, designed to improve scapular posture and muscle control through a series of specific movements performed with holds and rest periods. Both treatments aim to address pain, function, and range of motion in the shoulder. During the study, participants will be assessed using several measures including the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI), Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) questionnaire, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain, Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia (TSK), and range of motion via a standard goniometer. These evaluations will occur after one week to monitor changes in pain, function, and movement. The study will analyze results using statistical software to compare the effects of the two interventions on shoulder function and pain.
