What this Trial Is About

Cervical radicular pain is a condition where neck pain radiates to the upper limb due to nerve root irritation or compression, significantly affecting daily life and neck movement. This trial compares two stretching methods, Myokinetic Stretching Technique MST and Post Facilitation Stretching PFS, to see how they affect pain, neck range of motion, and disability in adults with this condition. The study is a randomized controlled trial aiming to provide clearer evidence on these commonly used therapies. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Group A will receive MST alongside conventional physiotherapy including hot packs, neck isometric exercises, neurodynamic gliding, and cervical traction. Group B will receive PFS with the same conventional treatments. Both interventions last 4 weeks with three 45-minute sessions each week on alternate days. MST uses controlled muscle stretching and myofascial release, while PFS involves strong muscle contractions followed by rapid stretching. Throughout the study, participants will be evaluated for pain intensity using a numeric pain rating scale, neck movement measured by goniometer, and functional disability assessed by the Neck Disability Index. Assessments occur before and after the 4-week treatment. The trial includes careful monitoring and data analysis to compare these stretching techniques and aims to support evidence-based therapy for cervical radicular pain.
