What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating whether a multi-part training approach using iLookOut's Core Training plus a new Micro-Learning follow-up can help early childhood professionals (ECPs) keep knowledge and improve behavior about child abuse and reporting. The study also compares if non-ECPs show similar improvements. It aims to find the best timing for delivering Micro-Learning to boost knowledge and preparedness for protecting children. Participants first complete the Core Training online through a secure website. ECPs are then randomly assigned to receive the Micro-Learning follow-up immediately, or after 3, 6, or 9 months. Non-ECPs can access the Micro-Learning right after the Core Training and serve as a comparison group. The Micro-Learning includes short interactive gamified exercises lasting 5-10 minutes, delivered via smartphones or computers. During the study, participants complete knowledge tests and behavior questionnaires about child maltreatment at various time points, especially 3 months after training. Researchers analyze how knowledge fades over time and how behavior changes relate to knowledge scores. The study monitors participants' baseline characteristics and work settings to understand effects. Total participation timing varies by group, with assessments done up to 6 months or longer.
