What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying the physical health, bone quality, and fracture risk in young female soldiers aged 18 to 35 years from the German armed forces. This observational study aims to describe their physical and health status and investigate how different contraceptive methods, physical activity, body composition, muscular strength, nutrition, and hemoglobin levels might impact bone health. The study involves female soldiers of German nationality between 18 and 35 years old from the Bundeswehr University Munich. Participants' bone density will be measured by T-Score at the start and again 12 months later. The study will consider various lifestyle factors and physiological measures to understand their influence on bone quality and fracture risk. Participants will be assessed at baseline and after 12 months for bone density using T-Score measurements. The study collects information on body composition, muscle strength, nutrition, and hemoglobin levels, as well as contraceptive use and physical activity habits. Data will be pseudonymized to protect privacy, and participants should be free from musculoskeletal injuries and not have electronic implants or be pregnant. The total follow-up period is 12 months.
