Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Registry at UPMC for Adults

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are collecting medical record information from adults with Inflammatory Bowel Disease IBD who receive care at the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This observational research registry aims to support retrospective studies and help identify eligible participants for future IBD research. The goal is to improve understanding of the disease, its natural progression, and to aid the development of better and potentially preventive treatments. Participants provide written consent to allow their identifiable medical information related to IBD to be included in the registry. This registry does not involve any specific treatments or interventions but collects data to support ongoing and future research efforts at the center. During the study, participants medical records are used for research purposes. The primary outcome measured is the number of patients with IBD over a 20-year period. There are no active treatments or visits required as part of this registry, and participants usual medical care continues uninterrupted. The study is ongoing with a planned completion date in May 2030.
