What this Trial Is About
Life stress significantly affects mental and physical health, contributing to illness and death. Forgiveness, defined as letting go of negative feelings toward an offender, may help reduce the negative impact of stress. This observational study focuses on people living with HIV (PLHIV), who face chronic stress and stigma, to explore how forgiveness influences their well-being and health in a largely secular country. Participants will be observed without receiving experimental treatments. The study will examine the relationship between individuals' tendency to forgive and their quality of life over an 18-month period. It aims to understand how a forgiving disposition might improve coping with stress among PLHIV. During the study, participants will be followed for up to 18 months, including teleconsultation visits as part of usual care. Researchers will assess the correlation between forgiveness inclination and quality of life. Participants must have access to social security and consent to participate, and their follow-up will be monitored to ensure consistent engagement.
