What this Trial Is About
Researchers are investigating whether using a special imaging test called FDG PET/CT along with usual cancer screening can detect hidden (occult) cancers more effectively in patients who have had a first unexplained ischemic stroke. This pilot trial aims to see if a larger study is possible and to compare cancer detection rates between the new screening method and standard care. The study is led by the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and focuses on adults with cryptogenic stroke.
