What this Trial Is About
This research aims to examine how fear of movement (kinesiophobia) may influence the connection between pain intensity and disability in adults with chronic neck pain lasting at least three months. Chronic neck pain is a complex condition involving both physical and psychological factors, and understanding these relationships may improve rehabilitation methods. This observational study focuses on adults aged 18 years or older with persistent neck pain to explore these important aspects. Participants will be assessed using validated self-report questionnaires that measure pain intensity, fear of movement, disability related to neck and upper limb functions, and physical activity levels. The study does not involve treatment but gathers detailed information to understand the role of psychological factors like kinesiophobia in chronic neck pain. All assessments occur at a single baseline visit. During the study, participants will complete questionnaires on pain, disability, and physical activity, and researchers will evaluate deep cervical flexor muscle function. The main outcomes include measures of pain-related disability, pain intensity, kinesiophobia, muscle function, and physical activity level. Data collection occurs only once at baseline, with no follow-up or treatment provided. The study is sponsored by Ondokuz Mayıs University and is designed to provide insights for future targeted rehabilitation strategies.
