Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Subjects over 18 years of age
- English-speaking
- Scheduled to undergo primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery
- No history of prior knee surgery on the operative knee
- No other ligament repair or reconstruction procedures besides ACL
- May have partial meniscectomy or meniscus repair if it does not change weight-bearing or rehabilitation
- Clinical and MRI confirmation of acute full thickness ACL tear
You will not qualify if you...
- Age under 18 years
- Non-English speaking
- Revision ACL reconstruction
- Multi-ligament injuries including posterior cruciate, medial collateral, or fibular collateral ligament injuries
- Meniscal or cartilage injuries that change weight-bearing or rehabilitation
- Unable to comply with follow-up visits
- Lacking decisional capacity
- Worker's compensation patients
- Need for a custom-sized brace
