What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of the MAP for Coaches, a web-based training course designed to improve youth sport coaches' knowledge and motivation regarding musculoskeletal injury prevention. The study focuses on whether the course increases understanding of injury types, risk factors, and prevention techniques, especially neuromuscular training warm-up programs. It also examines if these effects last over time and promote the use of such training programs in coaching. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Both groups receive the MAP for Coaches training, but the control group reviews a summarized 2-page injury prevention e-book with an infographic, while the intervention group completes the full eLearning course including detailed modules. The study compares outcomes between these groups to assess the impact of the full training versus the summary. During the study, participants complete surveys measuring changes in knowledge, self-efficacy, and intention immediately after training. Follow-up assessments at 6 and 12 months evaluate long-term knowledge retention and adherence to neuromuscular training warm-up exercises. The study is conducted online, allowing coaches to engage with the training and assessments remotely over time.
