What this Trial Is About

Researchers are exploring whether participating in group sessions that include watching Netflix or Disney series or movies combined with an emotional education program called ThinkHumanTV can improve the wellbeing and mental resilience of adults receiving long-term treatment at community mental health centers. The study compares groups watching with ThinkHumanTV education to groups watching without this educational component to see which approach better supports emotional awareness and coping skills. Participants will attend 6 weekly group sessions where they watch selected TV content for 90 minutes alongside 4 to 8 other members, guided by a discussion leader. One group will receive the ThinkHumanTV emotional education program integrated into the viewing experience, while the comparison group will watch the same content without this added education. The study employs a randomized design to fairly compare these two approaches. During the 3-month intervention period, researchers will measure changes in participants' emotional awareness, anxiety levels, depression symptoms, and overall quality of life. Assessments will be made at baseline and after the intervention to evaluate improvements. Participants' mental health will be monitored throughout, and the study includes follow-up to understand the lasting impact of the program on their wellbeing.
