Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Children with a diagnosis of bilateral spastic CP caused by prematurity complications, intracranial hemorrhage, or periventricular leukmalacia
- Children aged 4 to 12 years
- No Botulinum toxin treatment within 6 months before training
- No surgeries such as selective dorsal rhizotomy within 12 months before training
- Ability to sit without help for at least 10 seconds
- Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) levels I to IV
- Ability to reliably signal pain, fear, or discomfort
- Mild scoliosis with Cobb angle less than 20 degrees
- No prior hippotherapy experience within 6 months
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe lower extremity contractures, fractures, bone instabilities, or osteoporosis
- Severe disproportional bone growth
- Unhealed skin lesions on lower extremities
- Thromboembolic diseases or cardiovascular instability
- Aggressive or self-harming behaviors
