Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patient 60 years or older
- Both sexes
- Patients scheduled for on-pump open heart surgery, either isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) or combined CABG and valve surgery
You will not qualify if you...
- History of central nervous system disease such as epilepsy, brain tumors, or dementia
- Presence of metabolic disturbances
- Illiteracy
- Severe cognitive impairment based on Mini-mental state Examination (MMSE) or Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)
- Inability to undergo Digital Electroencephalography (DEEG) recordings due to uncooperativeness
- Abnormal brain imaging findings except for small vessel disease
