Observational Pilot Study on Risk Factors for Complications After Laparoscopic Surgery With Pneumoperitoneum in Trendelenburg Position

This research aims to assess early complications after laparoscopic surgery performed in the Trendelenburg position with increased pressure inside the abdomen pneumoperitoneum. It also investigates how changes in blood flow and metabolism during surgery may impact patient outcomes. This observational pilot study focuses on patients undergoing this specific surgical procedure to better understand risks involved. Participants will undergo laparoscopic surgery with controlled pneumoperitoneum while positioned in Trendelenburg. The study monitors various biological markers before surgery and two hours after completion, including urine and serum NGAL, cannabidiol levels, total body water, extracellular water, serum pH, base excess, lactate, and syndecan-1 concentrations. These measurements help evaluate physiological changes related to the surgery. During the study, patients will be closely observed for postoperative complications such as acute kidney injury, delirium, stroke or transient ischemic attack, heart ischemia, arrhythmia, lung collapse, pneumonia, and acute respiratory distress syndrome within set timeframes after surgery. Data collection includes laboratory tests and clinical monitoring during the hospital stay and up to 30 days post-surgery. The total study period spans from June 2024 to June 2026.
