What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating whether an Internet-based behavioral intervention can help Latina adults increase their physical activity and improve their diet. The study aims to see if participants in the online program increase their physical activity levels, eat more fruits and vegetables, and reduce sugar-sweetened beverage consumption over 12 weeks. This trial compares the online intervention to a wait-list control group that receives no intervention during the first 12 weeks. Participants who qualify will be randomized to either receive access to the interactive web-based intervention or be placed in the wait-list control group. Those in the intervention will use an online program for 12 weeks that offers goal setting, activity and diet tracking, tailored healthy eating and exercise information, and educational videos. The wait-list control group will complete the same assessments during the first 12 weeks and then receive access to the intervention for an additional 12 weeks. Participants will complete assessments at the start and after 12 weeks, including wearing an accelerometer to measure physical activity and reporting their diet, focusing on fruit, vegetable, and sugar-sweetened beverage intake. Researchers will monitor changes in physical activity and diet quality. The total participation involves baseline and week-12 assessments, with follow-up for the wait-list group as they also receive the intervention later.
