What this Trial Is About
Researchers are comparing the rates of prosthetic complications and the impact on oral health-related quality of life between two types of full-arch implant-supported prostheses in adults with complete edentulism. The study evaluates screw-retained monolithic zirconia frameworks versus CNC-milled titanium frameworks combined with zirconia superstructures over a 12-month follow-up period. The goal is to understand how these two prosthetic designs perform in patients needing full-arch implant restorations. Participants receive one of two prosthetic treatments a one-piece, full-arch monolithic zirconia prosthesis that is screw-retained to multi-unit abutments, or a two-part prosthesis consisting of a CNC-milled titanium framework screw-retained to abutments with a cemented zirconia superstructure. The monolithic zirconia prosthesis is custom-designed and milled using digital impressions and CADCAM technology. Both prostheses are intended as long-term restorations and delivered at the time of final insertion. During the study, participants will be monitored regularly for prosthetic complications and changes in their oral health-related quality of life over one year. Assessments include clinical examinations and patient-reported outcomes related to comfort and function. The study aims to provide detailed information on the durability and patient experience of these implant-supported prosthetic frameworks over the trial period.
