What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying factors that affect quality of life in adults with spinal deformity. This study looks at imaging results along with pain levels, daily functioning, psychological factors, and frailty to help create more personalized care. It involves 320 adults divided into three groups based on their treatment conservative management, first corrective surgery, or reoperation. Participants receive standard care without any experimental treatments. The study collects data through questionnaires on quality of life, back symptoms, functioning, and psychological wellbeing. Functional movement tests and existing routine X-ray or EOS images may also be used. The study compares the three groups to understand differences in quality of life and psychosocial burden. Participants are followed for up to 2 years. Those who have surgery are assessed at surgery, and around 6 weeks, 4 months, 1 year, and 2 years after surgery. Those receiving conservative treatment are assessed at the start and during routine care at about 1 and 2 years. Questionnaires, functional tests, and imaging from routine care support monitoring. The main outcomes measured are quality of life, psychosocial burden, and functional impairment across treatment groups.
