Benign tracheal stenosis is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition caused by scarring that narrows the airway. It can result from medical procedures like intubation or tracheostomy, autoimmune diseases, or unknown causes. Researchers aim to study this condition by analyzing tissue samples from patients to better understand the disease at a cellular and molecular level through RNA expression profiles. The study involves collecting tissue from patients with benign tracheal stenosis who are undergoing clinical procedures such as biopsy or surgical resection. These tissue samples, which would otherwise be discarded, will be examined using RNA sequencing to characterize disease-specific molecular patterns. This observational study does not involve any additional interventions beyond standard clinical care. Participants will provide tissue samples during their routine medical treatment. Researchers will analyze RNA profiles from these samples over one year to gain insights into the disease process. There are no additional treatments or visits required for study participation beyond those needed for clinical care. The study will monitor the molecular characteristics of the tissue to support future research and potential therapies.
