Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients aged 60 and 6485 years old, male or female
- Meet the diagnostic criteria for dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI)
- Neuropsychological score: MMSE between 15 and 28 points
- Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) 64 1 point
- Patients and their families provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of other neurological diseases that may cause brain dysfunction (such as depression, brain tumors, Parkinson's disease, metabolic encephalopathy, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain trauma, normal intracranial pressure hydrocephalus)
- Presence of systemic diseases that may cause cognitive impairment (such as liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction, thyroid dysfunction, severe anemia, folic acid or vitamin B12 deficiency, syphilis, HIV infection, alcohol or drug abuse)
- Conditions preventing cooperation with cognitive examinations
- Contraindications to MRI scanning
- Mental and neurological retardation
- Refusal to provide blood samples
- Refusal to sign informed consent
