What this Trial Is About

Anxiety is common before elective cesarean sections and can negatively affect anesthesia, pain after surgery, and maternal mental health. This research aims to evaluate whether a training program on therapeutic communication techniques for obstetric care teams can reduce anxiety levels in patients undergoing planned cesarean deliveries. The study compares anxiety before and after introducing this communication training, focusing on non-drug methods to improve patient experience. The intervention involves a brief online training for medical and paramedical staff, using podcasts, digital flashcards, and a lexicon promoting hypnosis-based therapeutic communication. This training teaches principles like empathy and positive language to avoid suggestions that might increase anxiety. Two groups of 130 patients each are observed: one before the training and one after its implementation. Participants will have their anxiety measured within 24 hours after their cesarean section using a standardized anxiety score. Staff satisfaction and the program's relevance will be assessed at 6 and 12 months. Researchers will adjust for factors like baseline anxiety and psychiatric history. The study lasts from April 2025 to July 2027 and aims to improve communication practices and patient outcomes in cesarean care.
