What this Trial Is About
Researchers are investigating the use of blood, urine, and tissue biomarkers to diagnose and predict kidney diseases, including conditions affecting native kidneys and kidney transplant recipients. This observational study aims to improve understanding of these diseases and help identify markers that could lead to earlier, more personalized treatment, potentially improving long-term kidney graft survival. Participants include patients undergoing kidney biopsy or kidney transplantation. Samples of blood (about 17.5 mL), urine (50 to 100 mL), and tissue from biopsies will be collected during routine care visits. These samples may be stored for genetic studies. For kidney transplant patients, blood and urine samples are taken on the day of the kidney biopsy. Participants will have clinical data recorded from routine care, including demographic, biological, clinical, and imaging information. Samples will be collected once during treatment visits. The main outcome is to identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers over one year. The study will monitor disease progression and the role of biomarkers in kidney health without influencing standard care.

Your Study Journey
Duration - 2 to 4 weeks
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial.
1 visit (in-person)
Duration - Occurs on biopsy days as part of routine care
Participants undergo blood and urine sample collection during routine care visits for native kidney or renal graft biopsies. If kidney biopsies are performed, tissue samples may be collected for research purposes.
1 visit per biopsy (in-person)
Duration - Up to 1 year
Participants' clinical data and biomarker samples are observed and analyzed over approximately 1 year to identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers related to kidney diseases.
Visits occur as part of routine clinical follow-up
