Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Minimum age 5 years old
  • Diagnosis of myelomeningocele
  • Starting a retrograde or antegrade enema program or switching between them
  • Ability to speak and read English or Spanish
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Other types of spinal dysraphism such as lipomyelomeningocele or fatty filum

Participants starting either a retrograde or antegrade enema program as part of their usual clinical care are observed to compare how these programs affect bowel continence, quality of life, bowel symptoms, self-management, and healthcare utilization.
