The total participation duration is one year, with data collected to help improve bowel care and quality of life for people with spina bifida.

Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Minimum age 5 years old
- Diagnosis of myelomeningocele
- Starting a retrograde or antegrade enema program or switching between them
- Ability to speak and read English or Spanish

- Other types of spinal dysraphism such as lipomyelomeningocele or fatty filum

Participants starting either a retrograde or antegrade enema program as part of their usual clinical care are observed to compare how these programs affect bowel continence, quality of life, bowel symptoms, self-management, and healthcare utilization.
