You may qualify if you...

Adults aged 18 years or older
Hospital admission diagnosis consistent with sepsis (signs of infection plus illness severity)
Willingness to have medical records reviewed and to receive daily follow-ups during hospitalization
Signed informed consent for initial study procedures
Expected to be discharged within 24 hours after overcoming the critically ill phase
Willing and able to comply with scheduled phone follow-ups and study procedures
Signed informed consent for post-discharge procedures
Availability of mobile network coverage at place of residence

You will not qualify if you...

Need for emergent or urgent obstetric or surgical intervention at admission (including burns, trauma, abscess)
Current or previous enrollment in this study
Terminal illness due to condition other than sepsis
Being a detainee or prisoner
Unable to speak English or Luganda
Unable to hear at discharge
Unable to return to the same health facility for scheduled 14-day post-discharge clinic visit
Requiring clinical care for more than 10 days without discharge due to financial or logistical reasons
