The Cardiometabolic Risk Factors Registry CARFARE is an observational study focused on individuals with risk factors related to cardiovascular and metabolic diseases such as atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, obesity, and other cardiovascular conditions. It is conducted within a cardiovascular primary prevention program at the Cardiometabolic Unit of the Austral University Hospital. The study aims to monitor the incidence of major cardiovascular events and mortality over a five-year period. Participants undergo a detailed and structured assessment including measurements of body mass index BMI, blood pressure, and metabolic laboratory profiles. They also receive baseline electrocardiograms, arterial stiffness evaluations, and screenings for subclinical atherosclerosis in carotid and ileo-femoral arteries using echo-Doppler. Additional evaluations include echocardiograms and ergometry tests to assess heart function and exercise capacity. During the study, participants are regularly monitored through these evaluations to track cardiovascular health and risk changes. The primary outcomes measured are the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events and mortality rates over five years. This registry provides valuable data for understanding cardiovascular risk factors and their impact in a real-world setting, with care provided under medical supervision throughout the study period.
