Migraine is a widespread neurological condition that causes significant disability, especially among working-age individuals. It is characterized by increased sensitivity in the nervous system, leading to heightened pain and associated symptoms such as neck and musculoskeletal pain. This research aims to compare central sensitization, work-related stress, and musculoskeletal symptoms in desk-based workers with and without migraine, addressing a gap in understanding how these factors interact in this population. The study involves participants who work at desks for at least four hours daily and categorizes them into groups with episodic migraine, chronic migraine, or no migraine diagnosis. It evaluates their central sensitization using the Central Sensitization Inventory and measures headache intensity, disability, work stress, musculoskeletal pain symptoms, and headache impact. The study is observational and collects data at a single point in time. Participants will undergo demographic and clinical evaluations along with completing questionnaires related to their symptoms and stress levels. The primary outcome is the Central Sensitization Inventory score collected on the first day. Secondary outcomes include assessments of headache impact, disability, and musculoskeletal symptoms. The study helps to understand the relationships among migraine, musculoskeletal pain, and work stress in desk-based workers and is led by Bozok University.
