Gender dysphoria is a condition where a person experiences a conflict between their biological sex and their experienced gender identity. This condition often includes mood changes such as sadness, irritability, and obsessive thoughts. Researchers are exploring the brain differences involved in gender dysphoria, focusing on brain connectivity and self-awareness, to better understand how this condition affects brain function. The study compares people with gender dysphoria to volunteers without the condition, including both males and females aged 18 to 60 years. Participants have not received hormonal therapy or gender reassignment surgery and do not take psychotropic medications. The study involves psychiatric evaluations and brain activity measurements using electroencephalogram during specific tests to analyze brain function. Participants will undergo several psychiatric assessments and brain scans over 24 weeks to observe brain activity patterns and connectivity. Researchers will measure various brain microstates and cortical activity to understand neurophysiological differences. The study aims to improve knowledge about gender dysphoria by comparing clinical and experimental data collected from both affected individuals and healthy volunteers.
