Researchers are conducting an observational study to collect detailed information on adults seeking medical and surgical treatments for gender incongruence. This study aims to better understand the safety, effectiveness, and satisfaction with current gender-affirming treatments. It also seeks to highlight areas for improvement to help healthcare providers offer care that matches the needs and goals of transgender and gender-diverse individuals, ultimately improving their quality of life. Participants will be adults referred to the Copenhagen Center for Gender Identity who are seeking treatment related to gender incongruence. Data will be collected through clinician and patient reports, including online surveys completed at the start of the study, after assessment, and yearly if hormone therapy is started. The study will gather information on gender identity, transition experiences, health status, quality of life, treatment preferences, and detailed records of medical and surgical treatments. Throughout the study, participants will provide information via surveys and clinical data will be collected from healthcare providers. Researchers will assess quality of life at baseline and during yearly follow-ups. The study will also examine treatment effects, side effects, complications, factors leading to treatment discontinuation, and patient satisfaction. This work aims to support ongoing improvements in patient-centered care for transgender and gender-diverse adults. Participation length varies depending on treatment and follow-up schedules.
