Registry Study Using Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography to Assess Disease and Risk in Patients with Suspected Coronary Artery Disease

This research aims to gather a large group of patients suspected of having coronary artery disease CAD who underwent Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography CTCA to better understand how CTCA helps in identifying the presence and severity of CAD and predicting patient outcomes. The study focuses on assessing the added value of CTCA to current methods in determining disease burden and cardiovascular risk. It is an observational retrospective study analyzing data collected from patients evaluated with CTCA over the past several years. Patients included in the study had CTCA performed using at least 64-slice CT technology or 16-slice with more than 4 years follow-up and had a calcium score available. The study collects data retrospectively from institutional databases, including clinical history, CTCA results, and follow-up records. Patients were classified based on CTCA findings into groups with normal arteries, non-obstructive CAD, or obstructive CAD. Data include detailed CT scanning protocols and administration of medications like beta-blockers and nitroglycerine during imaging. Participants information, such as cardiovascular risk factors and symptoms, was collected from clinical databases and interviews. Outcomes tracked include major adverse cardiovascular events MACE, coronary revascularizations, and shifts in cardiovascular risk categories. Follow-up data were obtained through outpatient visits, phone contacts, and medical records review, with a minimum follow-up of 6 to 12 months. Researchers analyze outcomes using various statistical methods to identify predictors of risk and the incremental value of CTCA in prognosis.
