What this Trial Is About
Researchers are conducting two studies to explore how dairy cheese and its dairy-free alternative affect feelings of fullness and blood sugar levels after eating. These studies involve healthy young adults and aim to better understand the health properties of both types of cheese. Secondary aspects include how the foods taste, their impact on energy and fatigue, digestion comfort, and overall food intake. Participants will try foods containing dairy cheese, a vegan cheese substitute, and a control food in a randomized order. The studies will monitor blood glucose, insulin levels, satiety, and food intake over 120 minutes after consumption. Additional measurements include energy and fatigue, gastrointestinal comfort, diet-induced thermogenesis, and sensory characteristics at the start and end of the test period. During the study, participants will undergo assessments of blood sugar and insulin at multiple time points, along with evaluations of how full they feel and how much they eat. Researchers will also collect feedback on energy levels, digestive comfort, and the sensory qualities of the foods. The studies are designed to include healthy volunteers aged 19 to 35 and will provide insights over the short 2-hour post-meal period.
