What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the use of deep learning enhancement in computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for patients suspected of brain stroke or vascular lesions. This observational study aims to compare enhanced imaging methods with conventional CT and MR scans to see if the deep learning approach can speed up imaging sessions, improve image quality, and ultimately support better patient care in stroke and vascular neurology. The study is sponsored by the Chinese PLA General Hospital and addresses critical imaging needs in stroke diagnosis and treatment decisions. Participants suspected of stroke or cerebral ischemia will undergo both conventional CT or MR imaging and deep learning enhanced imaging. The deep learning method applies approved techniques to improve or down-sample images obtained from standard CT or MR scans. All participants will be part of an imaging group where their scans will be evaluated using these two approaches. No drug treatment or invasive procedures are involved. During the study, participants will have their brain and vascular images taken using both conventional and enhanced methods. Researchers will assess the performance of deep enhanced imaging in detecting lesions and making diagnoses over a one-year period. The study focuses on imaging quality, duration of imaging sessions, and diagnostic accuracy. Participants will be monitored for image quality issues, and safety measures include the exclusion of those with severe movement artifacts or pregnancy. The total study duration extends until the end of 2027.
