What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating a new training platform called the Thrive Digital Peer Platform (TDPP) for Peer Recovery Support Service (PRSS) providers. This study compares the effects of a fully asynchronous TDPP, a TDPP combined with live Zoom sessions, and the standard training program on skill development and adherence. The goal is to create a scalable, evidence-based training system that expands access to recovery support services and addresses shortages in treatment providers. Participants are assigned to one of three groups: the standard state-approved training without digital content, the TDPP asynchronous online platform with 11 interactive modules, or the TDPP platform plus three live facilitator-led Zoom sessions for added skill development and peer interaction. The study aims to assess how these different training methods affect knowledge, adherence, and skill among PRSS providers. During the study, participants complete assessments including the YACS II Skill Adherence Score within two weeks of training completion, as well as surveys measuring system usability, knowledge gain, and intention to use immediately after training. Follow-up includes computer and telephone assessments over about ten months. The study tracks participant progress and training impact through these measures to evaluate the training platforms' effectiveness and feasibility.
