What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy aged 5 to 10 years to assess the combined effect of biofeedback therapy and functional electrical stimulation on upper limb function. This study aims to understand how these therapies can help improve hand function and muscle strength in affected children. The study has two groups: one group receives a physical therapy program including flexibility, strengthening, postural control, endurance, and hand function exercises three times a week for three months. The other group receives the same physical therapy plus biofeedback therapy combined with functional electrical stimulation targeting spastic muscles in the shoulder, elbow, and wrist during specific exercises. Participants attend one-hour exercise sessions three times weekly for three months. Researchers assess hand function, range of motion, and muscle grip strength before and after the treatment period. The study involves monitoring these outcomes to evaluate therapy effects on upper limb abilities in children with hemiplegia.
