What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying 40 children aged 5 to 10 years with hemiplegia cerebral palsy to evaluate the combined effect of biofeedback therapy and functional electrical nerve stimulation on upper limb function. Both boys and girls with specific levels of muscle spasticity and hand function will participate in this study. The treatments include biofeedback and functional electrical stimulation applied to muscles that control shoulder flexion, elbow, and wrist extension during targeted exercises such as reaching, grasping, carrying, and releasing objects. Additionally, participants will follow a physical therapy program that involves flexibility exercises, strengthening of trunk and limb muscles, postural control activities, endurance training, and specific hand function exercises like grasping and transferring cubes and pegs. Throughout the study, hand function will be assessed before the intervention and again three months after treatment to measure improvement. Participants will be monitored for their ability to follow instructions and their upper limb function level. The study aims to provide insights into how these combined therapies may affect the upper limb abilities of children with hemiplegia cerebral palsy.
