What this Trial Is About

University students face many challenges, including being away from family, financial pressures, and exam-related anxiety, which can increase stress and affect their academic performance. This research focuses on nursing students, who experience added stress due to the mix of theoretical and clinical demands in their education. The study aims to explore how mandala coloring might impact test anxiety among these students. The study is a randomized controlled trial running from December 2, 2024, to January 13, 2025. Nursing students enrolled in a Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing course will be randomly divided into two groups: one will engage in mandala coloring twice a week for 15 minutes over two months, while the other group will not receive this intervention. Participants in the coloring group will receive reminders and must submit their colored mandalas weekly, with exclusion if they miss two sessions in a row. Participants will complete a demographic form and a test anxiety inventory before starting the study and again 30 minutes before an exam. Researchers will analyze changes in test anxiety levels before and after the intervention. The study includes monitoring completion of coloring activities and questionnaire responses, with the goal of understanding the effect of mandala coloring on test anxiety in nursing students.
